# Managing customers

> Add dealer customers, manage their details, and control access to your ordering portal.

Use this page when a dealer starts buying from you or needs a change to their account.

## Add a customer

**When:** A dealer needs an account for your customer storefront.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the customer creation page">
    From **Customers**, select **Add Customer**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the business details">
    Complete **Customer Name**, **Emails**, and **Phone Number**. **Website** is optional.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the pricing matrix">
    Select the customer's **Tire Price Group**. This field appears only for supported accounts.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set any brand exclusions">
    In **Brand Exclusions**, select the brands to hide from this customer's search results.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit the business details">
    Select **Next**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the first service location">
    Complete **Location Name**, **Emails**, and **Phone Number**. Select the address in **Business Location Search, Powered by Google**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the location">
    Select **Add Location**. The location form closes.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add any other locations">
    To add another location, select **Add New Location**. The form opens again for the next location.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Continue to the invitation">
    Select **Next**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Invite the account owner">
    Enter the owner's **Email**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the invitation">
    Select **Send Invitation**.
  </Step>

<Check>
  The portal confirms the new customer and sends the owner an invitation email. The customer appears in **Customers**, showing its name under **Dealer** and its location count.

## Change customer details

**When:** A dealer changes its contact information, pricing matrix, or allowed brands.

  <Step title="Open the customer">
    From **Customers**, select the dealer's record.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the edit dialog">
    On the customer card, select **Edit**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Update the details">
    Change **Customer Name**, **Website**, **Emails**, or **Phone Number** as needed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Update pricing or brands">
    Change **Tire Price Group** or **Brands** under **Brand Exclusions** as needed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the customer">
    Select **Update**.
  </Step>

<Check>
  Reopen the customer. The customer card shows the saved contact, pricing, and brand settings.
</Check>

## Control portal and ordering access

**When:** A customer needs access to the storefront or permission to place orders.

The two access switches sit at the top of the customer page. An account can show one switch, both switches, or neither. If a switch you need is missing, contact support.

    From **Customers**, select the dealer's record.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn on portal access">
    If the customer page shows **Ordering Portal Access**, turn it on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn on ordering">
    If the customer page shows **Can Order**, turn it on so the customer can submit orders.
  </Step>

<Check>
  Each switch shown on the customer page matches the access you want for this customer.
</Check>

## Add a service location

**When:** A customer needs another shop or ship-to location.

  <Step title="Open the customer">
    From **Customers**, select the dealer's record.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start a location">
    In **Service Locations**, select **Add Location**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the location details">
    In the **Create Service Location** dialog, complete **Location Name**, **Emails**, and **Phone Number**. Select the address in **Business Location Search, Powered by Google**.

  <Step title="Save the location">
    Select **Add Location** at the bottom of the dialog.
  </Step>

<Check>
  The location appears in **Service Locations**. **Number of Locations** also includes it in the customer list.

## Invite another user

**When:** Another employee at the customer needs their own portal sign-in.

  <Step title="Open the customer">
    From **Customers**, select the dealer's record.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start an invitation">
    In **Users**, select **Invite User**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the user's email">
    In the **Invite your customer to login** dialog, enter the user's **Email**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the invitation">
    Select **Send Invitation**.
  </Step>

<Check>
  The portal confirms **Invitation has been sent successfully.** Reload the customer page. A pending-invitation alert shows at the top until the user accepts the invitation.
